Structured Settlement Career Planning Scholarship
CONGRATULATIONS to A. Melendez from the University of La Verne for winning the Structured Settlement Career Planning Scholarship! Read her response here.
Are you attending college in the United States and looking for a scholarship? We're providing a $1,000 scholarship for the 2015-2016 school year.
Behind the Scholarship
I'm proud to share that Roosevelt "Teddy" Lovett was not only my grandfather, but also one of my earliest teachers. He taught me to do things the proper way. Lessons I remember include counting, ironing, and finishing what I started--at least I know how to count well.
One lesson I learned by simply observing Roosevelt is that we should help people. I watched him help almost everyone who asked. He didn't make anyone grovel or feel embarrassed. He didn't take long to make up his mind--he just helped. He went out of his way to help. That's what I'm doing by creating this scholarship fund in his name and that's what you will do by responding to my prompt and creating an excellent resource for others.
Write 650-900 words for the prompt, "What Can College Students Do to Improve Their Job Prospects?"
On an unrelated note, you're welcome to connect with me on LinkedIn and Google+. If you follow the rules when submitting an application, I will do my best to help provide career guidance...presuming you seek it.
By applying for this scholarship, you agree to provide co-authorship rights to your response to our prompt and you agree to allow us to post your biographical information. The winning response will be published on this site as a resource for other students to utilize. We may use your response to create a derivative work, such as an article or video. Your bio will be posted to provide transparency.

A Winning Response
I plan on publishing the winning response on paymaster.co. My hope is that this response becomes a saving resource guideline for students. I think there's value in having resources written for students by students. You are not expected to write as if you were a finance or budgeting expert. You're also not expected to write as if you're a professional journalist.
The winning response should: 1) be easy to read and understand, 2) include practical, actionable advice or tips, and 3) be organized.
